Blooms and the Blue Bird

The Knock Out Roses are really showing off this week.

How did I end up holding this bird you ask?Well I heard a thud hit the window in our family room.I knew it was a bird because it happens pretty often. When I looked out the window onto the ground I saw this little finch laying on the ground gasping for breath.Thinking I needed to put him in a safe place while he came to his senses I went outside camera in hand.So I picked him up and he seemed quite content sitting in my hand so I snapped a few pictures .

If you click on the picture above you can see that his little eyes are not fully open and he looks a little dazed and confused.

After a few minutes he started to come around a little.

My husband came out and took this picture of me and the little Blue Bird. This was right before he flew off into the woods.

Best Wishes

Brenda:)

Hi Brenda, I am so glad you stopped by my blog and left a message. I came to yours and I noticed we like the same things, gardening, animals.....well almost..you are for Hillary I am for McCain....hahaha. anyways, I am happy to hear you are going to be a Grammie, and I love the picture of the bird in your hands! how special is that! I had one hit my office window by the time I got outside, it was gone. I will definitely be back, put you as one of my favorites.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I love your blog, and I'm going to head over to put it on my links list so I can stop in often.

That bird is gorgeous! I've never seen an indigo up close, let alone had one in my hand. What a neat happenstance. The backyard project looks awesome. The stained concrete is really neat. And the roses too. So many neat things! Thanks again!

Hello Brenda! I came from my friend Anne Fannie's blog! So glad I checked you out because you have a wonderful blog. What a sweet BLUE bird! How blessed he was to bump (well, kinda!)into your house! Three years ago, I had a bird do the same thing on my craftroom window. It was a blue Parrakeet. It hit so hard it broke some of it's feathers and was bleeding. With it being 100 degrees out the poor bird wasn't in good shape! I leaned out of my 2 story home while my daughter held onto my leg and reached to the side to get the bird off my screen window. The wonderful ending to the story is, we still have this sweet bird! He is such a happy, sweet bird. I am sorry someone lost their dear pet but grateful he came to us! Will be back to visit again dear Brenda! Hugs, Maryjane
